Everyone needs a survival guide for the Holidays. Here’s some tips on how to keep your local tattooer employed and fed during the #tattooapocalypse this winter. 1) Gift Cards: if you purchase a gift card it means you’re purchasing your future tattoo. Future you will thank you. I personally sell physical ones and digital ones and they make great last minute stocking stuffers/ gifts and can be loaded with any $ amount you want. 2) Support your tattooers other artistic endeavors. Buy their shirts, prints, pottery, trinkets, paintings, jewelry, etc. we’re a talented bunch of hoodlums and it doesn’t stop at your epidermis. I personally have started tattooing shoes and leather goods, I also have a bunch of merch for sale 😉. Nothing is cooler than receiving something handmade for the holidays, instead of that generic gift you were going to buy from “Shmamazon” 3) Buy aftercare products we recommend, from us. Tattooers typically have their favorite aftercare products for sale in a nice little case on display toward the front of the shop… ahem* you should go look on said fancy case and treat yourself to some nice skincare. I personally recommend @eat_your_skin products especially AFTERMATH to put on as soon as your second skin comes off. It’s REALLY helpful, you can be honest but you should also be kind as these reviews are one of our life bloods. 5) Referrals are the MOST important things we can receive. If someone comments on how cool your tattoo is drop the our card, give them our socials, or website. It’s a gift that keeps on giving. 6) Come get tattooed. I know you’ve been sitting on some ideas, saying I’ll do that or finish that tattoo next year. Honestly do it now, Winter is slow season for us and is genuinely the best time to get a tattoo.

To our friends and family who joined us for our micro-elopement, we love you endlessly. And to everyone who came out to our LA celebration or sent encouragement from afar on our special day, we felt every bit of that love too. It was, without question, the best day of my life. 🥹 I still get teary thinking about it, and I’m absolutely riding the wedding high, replaying every moment. The Tale of the Tattoo series continues! This time I got to work with Kathleen for her first tattoo. She was a referral from her husband Elliot 😊. Kathleen came to me with the concept of recreating one of her favorite album covers by the band @hotmulligan . We did a little switcheroo and made the dog her pup Bee Bop and I suggested changing the scenery up to a place that was meaningful to her. She chose Lake Tahoe (great choice) as that’s where they got married. It came out so cute and is just the perfect little momento to her family. It all came together in such an organic way. That’s the beauty of working WITH your tattoo artists. So much of this process is collaborative and to me that’s the fun part. Anyways, if you made it through this whole short story I appreciate it.
